Spirit Sister Productions is a South African Film and Television Production Company committed to creating world-class multimedia products that are authentic, produced with conviction, displaying a high level of integrity.

Heather Blumenthal and Thembi Mtshali Jones –two dynamic and professional women from diverse backgrounds, head the company. Collectively the “sisters” have spent many years in the media industry, and gained a huge amount of experience in the different areas of television and corporate production.

Through their passion and energy Spirit Sister Productions aims to contribute significantly to the Film and Television industry. In addition to providing excellent products and services, the intention of the company’s founders is to work with a creative team of dedicated professionals whose skills can be transferred to other aspiring filmmakers and producers. This is done by providing training in the areas of project development, as well as in areas of production and financial management.

Spirit Sister Productions was born through the vision and passion of these women. Through their various careers and experiences, each has brought a different quality and expertise to the company. They share skills, part knowledge and contribute positively to the Film and Television sector as part of the new dispensation in a democratic South Africa, where transformation is still on the cards, but has not been dealt with effectively thus far.

This work ethic enables us to source people who have been previously disadvantaged, empower those who have skills but no experience and provide effective training on all levels of production.
